Luxor can be divided into 4 main areas -1. Luxor City Centre, 2. the 5* tourist area, 3. the West Bank, 4.the mainly residential Egyptian area beyond the train station.

Luxor Temple is the geographical center of LUXOR and the train station is the centre of the East Bank

To the North of Luxor Temple is Karnak Temple - 2 - 3km and the 5* hotels, Sofitel and Hilton

To the South of Luxor Temple is the main 5* hotel/tourist area.  Sheraton Hotel is over 2km.  Iberotel is 1km.  In between these 2 are the other 5* hotels.

To the West of Luxor Temple is the River Nile and the West Bank - Valley of Kings etc.

To the East of Luxor Temple is MARA HOUSE!!! - 1km.
