Mara House caters for a small number of vacancies, thus ensuring a high standard of quality for all guests. With great atmosphere, unique restaurant, bar and special package deals with excursions, there is a personal touch here that is sometimes lacking in today’s fast-paced world.
Guests of Mara House are allowed use of the swimming pool facilities by a nearby hotel for 50 Egyptian pounds per person per day. They give back 50% of it in the form of credit when purchasing food or beverages while there.

Check-out is 12 noon but you are welcome to use all facilities until you
actually leave. If you are sightseeing on your last day and leaving late in the
day or evening you are given access to shower facilities and room to freshen up before you go.

Tours, transport, guides available if requested and organized for times to avoid the crowds from
the cruise boats and package holidays where possible.
We take no commission from taxis, caleshes, fellucas, shops or any other businesses for recommending guests to them. We do give you advice on where to get the best quality, service and prices.
So many people come to Luxor and never leave their hotels etc. because they say they are not able to face the constant hassle from taxis, caleshes, fellucca captains and shop owners. Many, many never go in the Souk or else run through it because they feel it is like "running the gauntlet".
If you feel like this and are staying at Mara House I have people who are happy to go with you IF YOU WANT when you go shopping or sightseeing as you will not be hassled when walking with an Egyptian. They can also help you with the pricing and bargaining if you feel you are not up to it....it is quite daunting for some people while others thrive on it! Obviously, these people cannot give their time for nothing so there is a fee of 10LE per hour that you are being accompanied, but this fee could well save you much time, hassle and money at the end of the day as they will NOT be taking commission from ANYONE for taking you to shops or in the Souk and they will see that you pay a fair price for anything you buy.
PLEASE NOTE this is not a service I am
pushing on guests but it is available on request. My priority is that my
guests have a comfortable, pleasant, relaxing stay at Mara House and get the
most pleasure possible from their time in Luxor.
